Why a Costa Blanca wedding is all about the season
Outdoor ceremonies in Jávea, Altea and Albir mostly happen between May and October. Each month dictates its own palette: what looks beautiful on a May morning in a villa garden can scorch in an hour under July sun by the sea.
May–June: peony and garden rose peak
The best window for classic bridal bouquets. Imported peonies, David Austin roses, ranunculus and sweet pea are all available. Palette: dusty pink, cream, champagne. +22 °C in the morning, +27 °C by the evening — comfortable for both flowers and guests.
July–August: Mediterranean architecture
Forget peonies and sweet pea — they won't survive. This is the season of lisianthus, hydrangea, alstroemeria, orchid and architectural calla lilies. Greens: olive branch, eucalyptus, ruscus. Palette: white, cream, blue hydrangea, all with silvery foliage. We make the bridal bouquet compact: less exposed petal surface, longer life.
September–October: depth returns
Dahlias, amaranth, autumn rose varieties and physalis come back. The palette shifts to terracotta, burgundy, ochre — perfect for sunset ceremonies by the sea. The best season for couples who want «not like everyone else».
What to plan for a seaside ceremony
- **Wind.** Arch installations must be dense and well-anchored — airy garlands fly away. - **Salt air.** Delicate petals spot in 2–3 hours. Choose resilient varieties. - **Logistics.** In Alicante we deliver the bridal bouquet 1.5–2 hours before the ceremony in a refrigerated van and assemble the décor on site.
How we work
Brisalta does wedding florals across the coast — from Alicante to Moraira. We start with a meeting or video call 2–3 months before the date, agree on a moodboard, build the budget around seasonal varieties and confirm orders with Dutch and local growers a week before the wedding.
